Do not judge and you will not be judged. -- Luke 6:37
Activity: In simple verbal or written form, have your family members affirm each other today.
Mom: I can be very harsh and critical of you at times because I fail to recognize your perceived "nagging" as expressions of how deeply you care for and worry about me. Throughout my life, you have demonstrated the meaning of unfailing and unconditional love, in spite of every aggravating thing I do. I only hope to be able to emulate that love when my time comes (one day not close to now) to be a mom.
Dad: From you I have learned the value of discipline. People shy away from "discipline" today as confining and "stifling" to "freedom" and "free expression," but that ignores all the positives that can come from self-denial and dedication. I am accomplished; I follow through on my goals; I set realistic standards for myself; and I know when it's time to work and when it's time to play so I can have time for both. Without that knowledge, I wouldn't be where I am today.
Brother: You are always good for a laugh, and for once I mean that in the kindest way possible. While it sometimes aggravates me, your eternally goofy attitude and refusal to take anything seriously reminds me when I need to lighten up and just act like a dumb@$$. Thank you for reminding me to exercise my sense of humor.
Prayer: Merciful God, you alone can see the heart and judge our actions. Gently lead us to be more perfect as you are perfect.
